Cats and Water Fountains: Is Running Water Healthier for Your Cats?

Water Fountains are Healthier?

Do you know cats have a low thirst drive? That’s because in the wild they get a lot of moisture from the food they eat. These days, cats in homes are often getting less water than they need for optimal health. Is a water fountain a good solution to this? Well, believe it or not, your cat’s ancestor evolved to seek out running water because it helped them avoid harmful bacteria present in standing water. Water fountains also provide new and fun sights and sounds for your cats! Watch this video to learn why you should consider a water fountain for your feline family members – and let them drink to their health!

  1. The one I got died, and Cleo (or Baby Widdle kitty kitty as she gets called) was extremely unimpressed that we had to go back to the regular water dish until the new one could be bought. She complains every so often, wanting me to dump and refill the dish so it’s fresh. I was looking at the normal recirculating kind, but then saw one that just dumps and refills the dish every so often, and doesn’t recirculate the water, I like the idea, so we’ll see if the extra $20 bought be a solution, or more complaints from kitty…

  2. I switched to a large glass bowl for the dog and cat years ago when I ditched all my plastic storage bowls.

  3. I bought a fountain but my cat has decided to spread the water everywhere and splash it , I can’t maintain it and not sure what to do ?
